Murder trial in Ironton shooting death set for Monday
IRONTON — A murder trial against an Ironton area man is scheduled to begin Monday, May 20, in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court, according to Prosecuting Attorney Brigham Anderson.
James W. Moore, 50, of Township Road 252, Ironton, was indicted last year on a charge of murder of an acquaintance at his home Aug. 27, 2018. He is charged with fatally shooting Homer F. Crank, 42, five times, twice in the chest and three times in the back, according to authorities.
The shooting apparently was recorded by Moore’s home surveillance system, Anderson said. Moore also is charged with tampering with evidence.
Judge Christen Finley is set to preside over the trial.
