A&P Sells Food Processing Plant
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (AP) _ An A&P food-processing plant in Western New York that was once billed as the world’s largest has been sold after laying dormant for 12 years.
Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., based in Montvale, N.J., announced Friday that the facility was being bought by Megacenter Partners of New York City.
The sale price for the 1.5-million-square-foot plant, located in Horseheads, N.Y., was not disclosed. Recent reports said A&P had cut its asking price from $25 million to less than $10 million.
