Nashoba Tech Names Townsend Resident Student of the Month
WESTFORD -- Sarah Assimakopoulos has been selected as a December Student of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Sarah, daughter of Sandi Coppinger and Marty Coppinger and James Assimakopoulos, is a senior in the TV & Media Production/Theatre Arts program.
She is a high-honors students who was inducted into both the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society as a junior.
She is a freshman mentor, helping incoming students to acclimate themselves to their new school, and works on the school newspaper, The Viking Voice. She received a bronze medal in Photography as a junior in the SkillsUSA District Competition. Sarah is also a member of the Viking Theatre Company.
She helped to organize “Pink Week” at Nashoba Tech, a weeklong fundraiser for breast-cancer research.
She has been accepted into, and plans to attend, the Honors program at Framingham State University to major in communications and marketing, and has qualified for a John & Abigail Adams Scholarship.
Sarah was nominated by English Instructor Bruce Sullivan, who wrote: “Sarah is an outstanding high-honors student with a passion for music, photography and media production. She is among my most conscientious and accomplished Advanced Placement Literature students. During class, she excels at group work, and often volunteers to read our in-class play for the class.”
