L.A. Kings Sign Four Reserve Players

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ The Los Angeles Kings have signed four reserve players, including three defensemen.

Defensemen Jaroslav Modry, Jan Nemecek and David MacIsaac and right wing Scott Thomas agreed to contracts Thursday, said Dave Taylor, general manager and senior vice president for the Kings.

Modry, 28, and Nemecek, 23, played briefly for the Kings last season when the team had injuries among defensemen,, but spent most of the year playing for the Long Beach Ice Dogs.

MacIsaac, 27, played in 47 games for the Philadelphia Phantoms in the American Hockey League last season. He had 21 points and 98 penalty minutes.

Thomas, 29, had 45 goals and 70 points last season for the Manitoba Moose in the International Hockey League.

The Kings will open training camp on Sunday.
