Workshop on medicines set at library

LAKE MILLS -- A workshop titled “Let’s Talk About Medicines” will be held at the L.D. Fargo Public Library in Lake Mills Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m.

Wisconsin Health Literacy will present this free one-hour educational program to help participants obtain a better understanding of how to more safely and effectively use medicine.

The topics covered will include: understanding the main parts of a prescription label, how to interpret special instructions on the label, types of containers and labels for solid and liquid medicines as well as dosage instructions and strategies for remembering to take one’s medicine.

There will also be information about over-the-counter medicines and how they may interact with other medicines. The program will also cover basic storage techniques and proper disposal of unneeded medicines.

A free continental breakfast will be included, and each attendee will receive a pillbox and workbook to take home.
