High School Nation experience visits Splendora High

May 2, 2019

Recently, Splendora High School was given a last-minute opportunity for students to experience a traveling arts festival with some of the biggest names in the arts industry. The organization High School Nation brought a team of professional musicians, dancers, artists and marketing agents to the campus and gave students opportunities to explore a wide variety of careers in the arts and enjoy an impromptu concert.

Splendora High School Fine Arts Coordinator Chris Pratt was contacted on a Monday by the organization and quickly asked Principal Dianna Archer if the campus could accept the invitation.

Archer agreed that this opportunity was too good to pass up.

“This was an amazing opportunity to expose our kids to some of the many things the arts has to offer,” said Archer. Being an Adaptable Learner is one of the skills that Splendora ISD touts on their Learner Profile and the high school’s staff and students’ willingness to adapt their schedules modeled this behavior.

It was definitely a win for the Fine Arts Coordinator Pratt.

“Students had the unique opportunity to see the diversity of fine arts and the many career paths the arts has to offer,” he said. “Our students had a great time and were inspired to try new things.”
