Common Sense Not Used In Decision

Editor: Former state Sen. Bob Mellow was convicted of federal crimes, served 14 months and forfeited his pension. The state pension board reversed that decision and awarded Mr. Mellow his pension of $20,000 a month. They based their decision that his crimes were federal, not state crimes. So, if you murdered a person under the federal statute, you would still be able to keep your stated job and pension. Common sense is not so common. George J. Kochis KINGSTON
