The Band Perry to perform at USC Aiken in October

October 3, 2018 GMT

Next Friday evening, the USC Aiken Convocation Center will host a concert featuring The Band Perry.

The concert is at 7 p.m. Oct. 12, and will be just weeks after the group’s release of its “Coordinates” EP, according to a press release.

“We are so excited to host this concert for fans throughout the CSRA,” said Karen Edgington, executive director of the convocation center, in the release.

The release cites a Billboard article, in which band member Kimberly Perry said “In the oldest days of the Band Perry, before we ever had songs on the radio or any of that, we were an indie power trio – me on electric guitar, Reid on bass, Neil on drums.”

“Our mission is to be exactly who we are and be able to put it out in real time,” she said.

The Band Perry recently transitioned from country music to a new sound, the release said.

“Stepping fully away from its country roots, the five-song outing – written and produced by the band along with regular collaborator Owen Thomas, and executive produced by Rick Rubin – moves firmly into the contemporary pop realm, with plenty of rich ambience and electronic enhancements, including vintage analog gear,” Gary Graff wrote in Billboard.

Tickets are available for the show at uscatix.com.

Adult tickets are $45 for the floor, and $40 for the stadium. Student tickets are $25 for the floor, and $20 for the stadium.

The Convocation Center is located at 2049 Champion Way in Graniteville.
