Pitt staves off upset bid

Youngstown state put a scare into Pitt, but ultimately the Panthers survived.

Pitt needed overtime but ultimately walked away with a 28-21 victory.

Penguins quarterback Hunter Wells threw both of his touchdowns on the day in the fourth quarter. He finished the day 18-for-32 for 311 yards.

Not to be outdone, Pitt quarterback Max Browne threw his only touchdown in overtime to Jester Weah for his only catch of the day, an 11-yard score.

Browne was 17-for-24 for 140 yards.

Pitt running back Qadree Ollison carried 22 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns.
