Boys Soccer: Crestwood Tops Tunkhannock

At Tunkhannock, Sean Murphy, Hubert Herrera and Nick Ruggeri all scored before halftime as Crestwood defeated the Tigers, 3-0, during the final day of regular season play in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer Saturday.

The Comets (16-1, 15-1 Division 1) won Division 1 of the WVC for the second season in a row. They’ll launch their District 2 Class 3A championship defense this week as the tournament’s No. 1 seed.

Ethan Munley tallied six saves for Tunkhannock (10-7-1, 8-7-1 Division 1). The Tigers finished fourth in the WVC and also qualified for the postseason.

Jimmy Kelley made a dozen saves for the Preppers (1-15, 1-13 Division 2).
