Somerset Borough police blotter: April 9
Counterfeit bills used
Somerset Borough police are investigating the use of counterfeit money at several local businesses.
Someone used fake $100 bills at the Subway along Water Works Road and Bi-Rite Beverage along North Center Avenue, according to police. One of the bills was recovered.
A female also used counterfeit money at the Sheetz along East Main Street.
The transaction took place around 4:52 a.m. Monday. Video footage shows a white female of an unknown age purchasing fuel using two counterfeit $5 bills with matching serial numbers, according to police. The bills were seized and logged into evidence.
The female was wearing a black hoodie, green beanie and glasses, and she had black hair. She left the store and was seen with another person at the pumps, apparently a male. Both left in a gold sedan, police said.
