Man killed in fiery accident on Loop 1604 identified
One of two people killed in a fiery crash on North Loop 1604 West more than a week ago was identified Monday by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Christopher Michael Peterson, 32, was pronounced dead on Nov. 11 from neck fractures caused by the accident, the examiner’s office said.
A passenger in the vehicle who was also killed had yet to be identified as of Monday evening.
Peterson was driving a blue Volvo S60 that sped past a stop sign at about 2:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Valero Way, according to San Antonio police.
The S60 then continued across the access road of Loop 1604 West and went airborne, moving across the highway’s main lanes, investigators said.
The car landed on the center concrete median and burst into flames, police said.
Both Peterson and the passenger were pronounced dead at 2:49 a.m., according to police.
