SOFTBALL: Schultz Gets 400th Strikeout In Tunkhannock Victory

Kendra Schultz recorded her 400th career strikeout and had 14 total, and Tunkhannock rallied with a four-run sixth inning to clinch the WVC softball Division 2 championship, beating Berwick 5-2 Thursday at home.

Schultz and Jena Simmons both drove in two runs. Tunkhannock’s Erin Dunn was 3 for 3 with two runs scored.

Hannah Hess reached base twice and scored for Berwick.

At MMI Prep, Courtney Cragle hit two home runs as part of a 2-for-3 game with four RBIs for Northwest.

Brenna Babcock and Trista Babcock added two hits each from the top of the lineup, with Trista Babcock’s hits being doubles. Nicole Cragle also had two hits and was the winning pitcher.

Irene Altmiller had two hits for MMI.
