Panel on racist incidents to be held in Bridgewater

A panel discussion on recent events in Charlottesville and the racist vandalism at a New Milford restaurant will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Bridgewater Congregational Church, 10 Clapboard Road.

The event is hosted by Western CT Civic Action as a way to discuss this moment in history, the impact on communities and democratic institutions, as well as how to respond.

Panelists include Usman Akhtar, imam of the Danbury Masjid-Islamic Society of Western CT; Rev. Cheryl Anderson, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Washington; Glenda Armstrong, president of the Danbury NAACP chapter; and Julie Kushner, director of UAW Region 9A.
