LAUGHLIN — The 2018-19 Laughlin Cougars wrestling schedule has been released.

The Cougars’ weren’t able to participate in the Boulder City Tournament on Dec. 1. However, head coach Colyn Kruse stated that they will be ready for the Parker Mid-Week Multiple Wrestling meet today (Dec. 5) at 3 p.m.

On Dec. 15 the Cougars wrestling team will be at the Parker Tournament which starts at 9 a.m. After the Christmas break, the Cougars will participate in the Alamo Tournament on Jan. 11 which starts at 9 a.m.

“I believe both the Alamo Tournament and Parker Tournaments will be pretty tough,” said Kruse. “I’m most excited to coach in the Alamo Tournament because we will see our division teams there so I’ll be able to see what type of competition we will be facing when it comes to league and regionals.”

After the Alamo Tournament, the Cougars are at the River Valley Mid-Week Multiple Wrestling Meet starting at 2 p.m. and they finish their regular season on Jan. 25 in the League Duels at home in the Cougars Den at 1:30 p.m.

“Making it to the state championship tournament will be pretty tough,” said Kruse. “We need to do well in both the league duels and regionals in order to qualify.”

The regional wrestling meet is on Feb. 1-2, time to be decided; the state wrestling meet is on Feb. 8-9, time to be decided.
