Muskego woman hurt in crash
TOWN OF HUBBARD -- Alcohol may have played a factor in a single vehicle crash that led to the motorist being flown to Summit Hospital, authorities reported.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Saturday at 1:34 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway S and state H ighway 67.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 26-year-old Muskego woman was driving a 2011 Ford F150 east on Highway S and approaching the intersection with Highway 67. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign on highways S and 67 and crossed both lanes of traffic. The truck left the roadway and crashed into a tree line where it hit a large tree. The woman was possibly ejected from the vehicle, which became fully engulfed by fire, which was quickly extinguished.
Flight For Life was summoned to take the woman, who suffered serious injuries, to Summit Hospital in Oconomowc and the fire was extinguished.
The area was searched, but the woman was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, authorities said.
Iron Ridge Fire and First Responders, Woodland Fire, Horicon EMS, Beaver Dam Paramedics, and Flight For Life assisted at the crash site.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
