Bradley Anthony Waltman, 56

Bradley Anthony Waltman passed away on January 31 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born November 19, 1961 to Alfred and Sally (VonEschen) Waltman Aberdeen, SD. Brad graduated from Roncalli Catholic High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northern State College. After college he worked in Aberdeen for the Comet. He then moved to Pierre to where worked with the South Dakota Department of Tourism and State Publishing. In 2001, Brad moved to Sioux Falls where he spent many years as a graphic designer at Lodgenet. Later, he used his artistic talents at Sanford Health where he worked until his passing.

Brad had a passion for the theater and all the arts. Where ever he lived, he found a home with the local community playhouse. He gave tirelessly of his time and talents to the Aberdeen Community Theater, Pierre Players or the Sioux Falls Community Theater. His theater friends became an extension of his family.

He was very active in the recovery community through his mentoring, attending meetings, providing leadership for state conference, and being there for anyone in need, regardless of time or day.

Brad loved spending time with his family and friends. Despite his busy schedule, he always found time to go back to the farm visiting family and friends. His numerous friends from across the state became a part of his extended family.

Blessed for having shared his life are his parents, Al and Sally of Aberdeen, SD; siblings Allen, Julie and her special friend Jim, all of Aberdeen, SD, Roger (Paula) of Parkston, SD, Lisa (Jeff) Richmond of Fargo, ND, Ron (Pat) of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg (Linda) of Aberdeen, SD, Sandra of Pierre, SD, Brian (Erika) and Chris (Katie) both of Aberdeen, SD; 26 nieces and nephews; special friends Tony, Brian, Mike, Joe and Faye and numerous others. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob and Martha Waltman, and Clarence and Anabelle VonEschen; and many beloved other family members.
