Boulder County Under Air Quality Advisory Through Wednesday Afternoon

February 26, 2019 GMT

An action day for particulates and visibility will be in effect for the seven-county Boulder-Denver metro area from 4 p.m. today through at least 4 p.m. Wednesday.

As a result, indoor burning restrictions and requests to limit driving will be in effect until the advisory is lifted. Poor visibility and an exceedance of the state visibility standard are expected on Wednesday, according to a state news release.

Due to a strong inversion, atmospheric mixing and ventilation will be limited today and Wednesday, resulting in poor visibility and fine particulate matter in the unhealthy for sensitive groups category.
