MU, Wayne County receive rural development grants
HUNTINGTON - Marshall University Research Corp. and the Wayne County Economic Development Authority will receive more than $99,000 in grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business Development program, Rep. Evan Jenkins, R-W.Va., announced Friday.
MU Research Corp. will receive $49,837 to develop a Regional Agricultural Asset Directory. The catalog will be used to assist state agencies, nonprofits and entrepreneurs in understanding the West Virginia ag economy.
The Wayne Economic Development Authority will receive $50,000 to develop a center for agriculture, wellness and rural enterprise. The facility will serve as an agricultural hub and have a farm training center.
