Serial bank robber from Illinois sentenced to 20 years
ALTON, Ill. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a southern Illinois man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing five banks over six weeks.
The (Alton) Telegraph reports prosecutors said Wednesday that 30-year-old Dandre R. Brown of Godfrey was sentenced on charges including five counts of bank robbery and one count of transporting a stolen vehicle across state lines. He entered guilty pleas in November.
Court documents show Brown was accused of robbing banks in Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, Edwardsville and Wood River in late 2017 and early 2018. He also admitted to a December 2017 bank robbery in Florissant, Missouri, as part of his guilty plea.
Brown was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia, in January 2018 after his fingerprints were found on a note he gave to a teller.
