Threat written on bathroom wall at Ector
For the second day in a row, a threatening message was found scribbled on the wall of a school bathroom, this time at Ector Middle School, an Ector County Independent School District Facebook post said.
Like Monday’s message at Permian High School, this one talked of shooting up the school. Today’s message was discovered near the end of the school day.
“Our ECISD police officers do not believe it was a serious threat, nor do they believe students or staff were in danger. As a precaution, we sent extra officers to the campus for the end of the day. The regular class schedule and dismissal went off normally,” the post said.
“We hope this will not become a regular, copycat occurrence that attempts to disrupt the day and we are asking for parents help. Please talk with your kids and explain that this is a serious matter. If we are able to identify who left these messages they can face felony criminal charges. In fact, Crime Stoppers is now asking for tips (333-TIPS and you will remain anonymous) from anyone who has information. Kids may think this is funny but the felony is not worth the fun and attention. Thank you for helping us stop this quickly,” the post said.
