Public hearings held this week on waterfowl hunting
MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Waterfowl hunters are encouraged to attend one of two public hearings this week in New York and Vermont on the status of waterfowl populations on Lake Champlain and proposed hunting seasons for them.
The New York hearing takes place Tuesday in Whitehall at the senior citizens building at the Whitehall Recreation Center. The Vermont hearing is scheduled for Thursday at the Winooski High School.
The meetings will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
They are being held by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department and board. Hunters are encouraged to attend and share their viewpoints.
