ORCHARD — A celebration of life for Paul K. Golter, 81, Orchard, will be 3-5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at St. Peter’s Lutheran fellowship hall in Orchard.
Ashburn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at his home.
Paul K. Golter was born on April, 10, 1936, in Norfolk, to Gus and Elisa (Bramer) Golter of Osmond. He attended country school near Orchard and graduated from Orchard High School in 1953.
Paul lived on the family ranch north of Orchard and was a lifelong steward of the land, where he cared for all creatures, great and small. He enjoyed finding fossils on his property and supporting the preservation work of Ashfall. He found joy in many things, including reading, travel, rebuilding engines, stock car racing, storytelling, good food, friends and his family. If you were fortunate to know him, you likely enjoyed his stories and hospitality. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his spouse of 35 years, Marilyn; children Paula Parker (Jack Leary) of Austin, Texas; Gigi (Larry) Inness of Omaha; Gretchen Golter (Eliot Siegman) of Lincoln; Julie (Rick) Glandt of Madison, N.C.; Melanie Golter (Sam Nash) of Greensboro, N.C.; Brian (Liza) Golter of Avondale, Pa.; Heidi (Travis) Webb of Norfolk; Justin Golter of Fremont; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Werner and Art; and an infant daughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ashfall Fossil Beds at nufoundation.org, The Arbor Day Foundation at arborday.org or to the family for future designation.
