CHP to hold toy drive for local children
The Yuba-Sutter California Highway Patrol will hold their annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 16 at Target, 1153 Butte House Road, Yuba City.
New, unwrapped toys brought during the donation hours will be gifted to Yuba-Sutter children in need, said Officer Jodie Beck.
She said she encourages people to donate toys for teenagers, such as sports equipment, because there is a greater need for the age group.
“We always run out of (sports) balls, because the 12-year-olds really like those,” Beck said. “Our goal is to just collect as many toys as possible. All the toys find a home and nothing is held over for the next year.”
Beale Air Force Base will have personnel onsite to help CHP during the toy drive.
