Authorities seek suspect in New Orleans bank robberies
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of trying to rob two New Orleans banks in one day.
The man is accused of entering the Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Company at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday and brandishing a gun, news outlets report. The man then handed a teller a note demanded cash before bicycling away empty handed, according to an FBI statement.
He entered a Capital One Bank about 30 minutes later, brandished the gun and presented a note demanding money, according to the statement. He then fled on the bicycle with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
