Redskins standout Ramey joins MU women’s soccer
HUNTINGTON — Early enrollee Ann Marie Ramey from Hurricane High School was added to the Marshall University women’s soccer spring roster.
Ramey is a 5-foot-4 midfielder and forward who helped lead Hurricane to the 2018 Class AAA state championship. She was named to all-state, all-conference and all-region teams.
“Ann Marie will begin with us in January and I am eager to see her make an impact,” Marshall head coach Kevin Long said in a HerdZone.com release. “She is physical, has good pace and works extremely hard on both sides of the ball. We will look to use her on the attacking side of the ball where her tireless work rate can make the most impact.
“She is a local player who bleeds green and white and will give us everything she has.”
Ramey also played club soccer for the West Virginia Futbol Club and was a member of four state championship teams.
