Stained-glass series at Fitchburg library

FITCHBURG — A stained-glass series is on display at the public library that combines religion and art.

The series is run by Wil Darcangelo, minister of First Parish Universalist Unitarian Church that overlooks the Upper Common.

They depict the Golden Rule as spoken by Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, which are the three faiths of Abraham.

Darcangelo will also moderate a reception and panel discussion on May 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the library’s Garden Room to discuss concerns about religion and culture. The event is free.

“Now, more than ever, we are compelled to seek friendship among those with whom we so often fearm,” the library said in a press release.

At the panel, Darcangelo will be joined by Rabbi Yehoshua Zehavi of Congregation Agudat Achim in Leominster, Rev. Karen Nell Smith of Congregational Church of Christ in Leominster, and Ijaz Ahmed, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Fitchburg.
