DRUGS, KINGMAN — Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 24 arrested Kodey Eric Ward, 26, and Richie Diamond O’Connor, 24, both of Kingman. Ward was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotic drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. O’Connor was arrested on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and on an unspecified outstanding arrest warrant. At about 10 a.m., deputies reportedly saw a black SUV roll through a stop sign on Marshall Drive. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said, but the vehicle continued to drive. She said deputies saw the driver and passenger moving around in the vehicle. After the vehicle eventually stopped, deputies made contact with the driver, later identified as O’Connor, and the passenger, Ward, and both occupants were removed from the vehicle. A baggie visible on the floor contained a white crystalline substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, Mortensen said. Deputies also reportedly found 5.8 grams of heroin in Ward’s shoe. Each of the suspects was taken to the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
