Officials: Man found dead after Louisiana boating accident
MONROE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana man was found dead nearly a week after being ejected from a boat.
Earl Clack, of Bastrop, was found Tuesday morning in Black Bayou, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said in a news release.
Clack, 48, was with another man March 11 when their boat hit a wake, causing the kill switch to detach from the motor and the vessel to make a hard turn. Both men were thrown from the boat.
The other man, who was operating the boat, was wearing a personal flotation device and rescued by a good Samaritan, the release stated.
Clack was not wearing a personal flotation device when his body was found. His body was sent to the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office.
