Lowell Rotary Club Seeking Qualified RYLA Participants
LOWELL -- The Rotary Club of Lowell is looking for qualified candidates to attend this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference, June 28-30, at Fitchburg State University. Interested high-school sophomores who live in Lowell would get an opportunity to live, work and interact with other students in an atmosphere of friendly competition. It is a program designed to challenge the participants to utilize and improve their skills and accept the responsibilities of leadership.
Rotary will sponsor up to five participants at this year’s conference, so there is no charge for the students. Participants will be young women and men who have exhibited leadership abilities and will be entering their junior year of high school in the fall.
The conference will feature leadership labs, guest speakers, and challenging mental and physical activities. Topics will include decision-making, critical thinking, communicating effectively, ethics and public service.
Interested students should submit applications by Feb. 28 at http://www.ryla7910.org , or contact Rotary’s Amy Pessia at 978-985-7881 or firstname.lastname@example.org , or any other member of the Rotary Club of Lowell.
