AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) _ T.C. Wright rushed for two touchdowns and returned a punt for another to lead the Amsterdam Admirals to a 28-9 victory over the London Monarchs on Saturday in the World League of American Football.

The game was watched by 8,492 fans in Amsterdam’s Olympisch Stadion.

On the Admirals’ first offensive possession, Will Furrer connected on passes of 39 and 37 yards to move Amsterdam to the Monarchs’ 1-yard line. Wright scored on the next play to make it 7-3.

Furrer completed three passes on a 79-yard drive on the next possession, one that culminated in a 7-yard touchdown run by Wright.

Wright returned a punt 85 yards for his third TD to give the Admirals a 21-3 lead midway through the third quarter.

The London offense scored its first second-half touchdown of the year. English tight end Gerry Anderson made the first catch of his pro career for a 3-yard touchdown to bring the Monarchs within 21-9.

But Furrer hit Dutch tight end Arnold Galesloot for a 14-yard touchdown. Former Ajax Amsterdam soccer player Hans Werdekker kicked four extra point to improve to 15-of-15 this season.
