November 15, 2016

A pizza delivery man escaped being robbed at gunpoint on the North Side Sunday night, when he ran back to his car and drove away from two masked men wanting his money.

The attempted armed robbery happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of East Bluff, Madison police said.

The 34-year-old Sun Prairie man delivered an order to a condo and was heading back to his car when two men approached, both with bandanas covering their faces.

“One pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money,” said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. “Instead, the victim ran and was able to get back to his car.”

The driver went back to his workplace and called police. Officers went to the scene but were unable to find the suspects.

The suspects are black, in their 20s or 30s, one being 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 160 pounds with a dark bandana and a gray hooded sweatshirt, the other wearing a gray bandana.
