Mildred L. Winge, 99, of Kankakee, passed away Saturday (May 19, 2018) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
She was born July 23, 1918, in Cullom, the daughter of John and Grace Cook Hartman. Mildred was married to Alvin Winge. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2004.
Mildred had worked at K-Mart in Kankakee. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening and playing the piano and organ.
She attended Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais.
Surviving are a son, Richard and Judy Winge, of Augusta, Ga.; daughters, Ruth and George Spiese, of Kankakee, and Lois and Richard Miner, of Bourbonnais; sisters, Rita Harper, of Wakarusa, Ind., and Bernice Canham, of Cabery; brothers, Lewis and Evelyn Hartman, of Goshen, Ind., and Leroy and Marlene Hartman, of Elkhart, Ind.; seven grandchildren, George Jr. (Jamie) Spiese, Brian Spiese, Brent (Charity) Spiese, Anita (David) Hildebrandt, Dawn (Jason) Quinlan, Casey (Jennifer) Winge and Jason (Jennifer) Winge; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Cooper, Lily and Rudy Spiese, Gavin Spies, Connor Miner, Ethan Quinlan, Parker and Jack Winge and Emma Grace and Cooper Winge.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Paul, Russell and Lowell Hartman.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, until the 11 a.m. funeral services at Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, with the Rev. Terry Anglea officiating. Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Aroma Township.
