March 27, 2001

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) _ Jim Wiedie, 8-8 as Indiana State’s interim coach this season, will coach the Sycamores next season.

Wiedie, an Indiana State assistant for three seasons, took over when Cheryl Reeve resigned with the team 1-5.

``Coach Wiedie undertook the interim position while this team was in a difficult situation,″ athletic director Andrea Myers said Tuesday. ``In this light, I feel that he performed admirably.″

Wiedie was an assistant at Northern Kentucky University and Walsh College in Ohio before coming to Indiana State.
