Police: Woman rams BMW of ex-boyfiend
A Santa Fe woman is facing reckless driving and property-damage charges after a Friday night incident in which, police said, she repeatedly rammed her vehicle into her ex-boyfriend’s car before fleeing the scene.
According to a criminal complaint, 33-year-old Yesica Arevalo-Ortiz drove her white 2017 Toyota Corolla to the home of her ex-boyfriend, 36-year-old Nicolas “Dino” Martinez, in the 5900 block of Larson Loop on the city’s south side.
After finding his silver 2000 BMW, she etched an expletive on the top of the trunk and then repeatedly crashed her car into his – as many as four times, witnesses told police.
Police reported the BMW’s bumper was hanging off the back of the car. They estimated damage to be in excess of $1,000.
Santa Fe Police officers charged Arevalo-Ortiz with one count each of criminal damage to property, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
