Annual Bicycle Rodeo coming back June 15

May 3, 2019

The Watertown Police Department Bicycle Rodeo is coming into its 26th year as a community event.

This year’s event will take place June 15 at Watertown High School from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The event is for children ages 12 and under who can ride a two-wheeled bicycle. All participants need to be registered by 11:30 a.m. to be entered into the raffle.

The event is meant to teach children the importance of bicycle safety. Children ride in nine courses to teach them to ride safely around their neighborhood and city. During the event, the police department will also register bicycles free of charge.

The Bicycle Rodeo is completely funded by donations from the community and local businesses so it can remain a free event for all participants. The Watertown Police Department recently received a $250 donation from the Watertown Lions Club that will help purchase raffle prizes for the children.
