1 dead, 3 injured in 2-car Columbia County crash
TOWN OF DEKORRA — One person died and three others injured after snowy roads led to a two-car collision at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Dekorra.
According to a press release from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling west on County Highway CS near Wilson Road and went out of control colliding with a 2014 Buick Regal that was traveling east on CS.
There were three males in the Mitsubishi. One of them was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two were transported to UW Hospital in Madison. The sole occupant of the Buick was transported to Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.
All parties were wearing seat belts and road conditions appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol. Names of all occupants are being withheld pending notification of family.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Poynette Police Department, Poynette Fire Department, Poynette EMS, Divine Savior EMS, Lodi EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, Columbia County Highway Department, Columbia County Medical Examiner’s Office and Blystone Towing.
