Galaxy 21, Claymores 10
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) _ Quarterback Damon Huard passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third Sunday as the Frankfurt Galaxy beat the Scottish Claymores 21-10 in NFL Europe.
The Galaxy, closing in on a World Bowl berth with a 6-3 record, took a 14-10 lead with 13:50 remaining when Huard hit Jermaine Chaney with a 8-yard pass.
After the Galaxy stopped the Claymores on the 1-yard line, Kenny McEntyre nearly broke the punt for a touchdown before being brought down on the Scottish team’s 10.
Huard, allocated from the Miami Dolphins, also hooked up with Mitchell Galloway for a 63-yard pass that put the Galaxy up 7-0 with seconds left in the first quarter.
The Galaxy needs a win in its final game Saturday or a Claymores victory against Amsterdam to clinch a World Bowl showdown against German rival Duesseldorf Rhein Fire.
The Rhein Fire lead the league at 7-2, while the Claymores fell to 2-7.
