CLEVELAND, Ohio – The final phase in the search for Cleveland’s Best Barbecue is officially on!

Readers voted 20 restaurants throughout Northeast Ohio to this championship round. Check out the finalists below and scroll down to start voting for your favorite to help them win the ultimate title of Cleveland’s Best Barbecue.

We invite you to vote once a day. New this round: A new poll will be added below every day at 9 a.m. More details on voting procedures are below.

How to vote

We encourage BBQ fans to vote every day through Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. As noted above, a new poll will be added to this post every day at 9 a.m. cleveland.com will tally each day’s votes and will publish periodic updates on voting totals dating back to Day 1. While a new poll begins daily at 9 a.m., voting in the most previous poll ends at 8:59 a.m.

Please be certain to scroll all the way to the bottom of the poll and click submit. You will then need to enter your email address and confirm your email address from the message you receive in your inbox in order for your vote to be counted. Note: Votes must come from the United States. Also, votes from the first round do not carry over.

A reminder that voting ends Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. The winner will be announced in a live broadcast on cleveland.com’s Facebook page later that day.

What’s next?

Cleveland’s Best reporters Brenda Cain and Yadi Rodriguez, manager Kristen Davis and celebrity host/comedian Mike Polk will visit each of the 20 finalists over the next few weeks. The tour begins Monday, July 30 with three stops and we invite you to join us for some amazing barbecue.

The full schedule of our visits will be published Monday but if you want to plan ahead, here are our stops for Monday:

11 a.m.: Oak and Embers Tavern, 8003 Mayfield Road, Chesterland.1 p.m.: Smokin Q’s BBQ, 718 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Village.3 p.m.: Big B’s Bar-B-Que, 5361 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst.

Note: All times are tentative, dependent on traffic and deliciousness.

At each of the 20 visits we will bring you full reports on the food -- which will include taste test reviews -- and plenty of photos and videos. The reports will be published at cleveland.com/best. We will also broadcast each visit live on cleveland.com’s Facebook page.
