CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia airport is installing solar panels to power its parking garages.

Yeager Airport in Charleston made the announcement Tuesday.

The panels will generate enough power for both the airport’s parking garages and reduce the overall electric bill. The more than 1,800 solar modules will produce enough electricity to power up to 70 homes.

Airport Director Terry Sayre says the project will highlight the airport’s commitment to sustainability.
