Anne Flanagan

Anne (Borschnack) Flanagan, formerly of Herscher, Wilmington and Crete, passed away recently.

She was born in 1934 in Herscher, the daughter of Fred and Teresa Borschnack. Her parents preceded her in death.

Anne graduated from Wilmington High School and then went on to attend and graduate from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Kankakee. Anne was a nurse in Kankakee and Denver, Colo.

She married John Shea and moved to Crete. During their time there, they had a baby girl, Micaela, who only lived four days. Twin boys were adopted. The family moved to Colorado, where the couple divorced.


Anne then met and married the love of her life, Bill Flanagan, in 1978.

She was a member of Our Lady of Pines Catholic Church in Conifer, Colo.

Surviving are her husband; children, Patty, Penny (Dan) and Jeff; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie (Louis) Rodawold, of Wilmington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joe (Opal) Borschnack and James (Louise) Borschnack; and children, Micaela, Tim and Tom Shea.

Services were held in Colorado with family present.
