February 4, 2018 GMT

Lonnye Finneman, director of pharmacy at St. Vincent Healthcare, was recently named recipient of the Montana Pharmacy Association Fitzgerald Pharmacist of the Year Award.

The award is given annually to a pharmacist who makes a difference by actively supporting their profession. The winner must also be a member of MPA, licensed to practice in Montana and have demonstrated going beyond the professional call of duty.

When Finneman began his role of director of pharmacy at St. Vincent Healthcare, one of his first goals was to help build a strong residency program. He also achieved Six Sigma black belt certification and retains his certification.

Finneman was also presented with an ASHP Best Practice Award for the Alaris Pump conversion. St. Vincent Healthcare was the first hospital in the United States to achieve hospital-wide interoperability between its infusion pump and EMR vendor partners. This project has continued to ensure improved safety and efficiency.

Finneman is also involved in the Billings community. He volunteers for Family Promise, Child Bridge and is active in his church as a youth group leader. He has been a member of the American Diabetes Association and was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award for the State of Montana in 2013.
