Attorney general helps launch annual winter clothing drive
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island’s attorney general has launched a winter clothing collection drive with the Neighborhood Alliance of Pawtucket.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin’s office and the alliance will be taking donations of winter apparel for the annual “Warm Hearts, Coats & Stuff” drive through Nov. 16.
Items being accepted include new or slightly worn winter coats, scarves, hats and gloves for children and adults. They can be dropped off at the attorney general’s new customer service center in the Pastore Complex in Cranston during weekday business hours.
Kilmartin says no one should have to go without proper winter clothing and the simple act of donating a coat, hat or gloves will help keep people warm this winter.
He says hundreds of people have benefited from past clothing drives.
