7 displaced after Akron house fire, officials say

AKRON, Ohio — Seven people were displaced Thursday night after a fire on the third floor of a home, officials said.

Firefighters were called just after 9 p.m. for a fire on the 800 block of Johnston Street, Akron Fire Department said in a news release.

Flames could be seen coming through the third floor of the home. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control within 10 minutes. The first and second floor of the home was OK, authorities said.

Three adults and four children lived in the house. Red Cross was called to assist them.

No injuries were reported.
