Fairfield U. presents National Theatre ‘Angels’ transmission
A live transmission from London of the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of “Angels in America” is set for Fairfield’s Quick Center.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tony Kushner looks at the early days of the AIDS crisis in New York City and Washington, D.C. mixing fictional characters with real people.
Nathan Lane stars in the production as the closeted gay Washington, D.C. and New York City power broker Roy Cohn. The cast also includes Andrew Garfield and Russell Tovey. It has been reported that the production might be transferred to a Broadway theater next season.
The play is split into two parts - “Millennium Approaches” and “Perestroika” - that will be transmitted on two consective Sundays.
