ISU men’s tennis: ISU earns 5-2 victory over Lewis-Clark State
The Idaho State men’s tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 5-2 victory against visiting Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday at the Reed Gym tennis courts.
The Bengals opened the day with a dominant doubles performance, winning at each of the No. 1, 2 and 3 doubles positions. Peter Trhac and David Felix paired up to defeat LCSC’s Luca Menezes and Guilherme Medeiros 6-3 to open doubles play, while Keegan Sullivan and Austin Gwilliam sealed the doubles point with a 6-2 win over William Bruchard and Tomas Veneret at No. 2 doubles. William Edin and Adam Hornby also picked up a doubles win at the No. 3 position with a 6-4 win over LCSC’s Han-rong Yue and Tony Chin.
In singles play, the Bengals won four of six singles matches to earn the 5-2 win. Sullivan opened singles play with 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Roberto Salazar, while Felix followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Bruchard at the No. 2 singles position. Trhac and Edin also picked up singles wins as Trhac defeated Yue 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Edin bested Chin 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Idaho State returns to action Sunday against Southern Utah at Reed Gym.
