Bullhead City fire blamed on charcoal grill
BULLHEAD CITY — An unattended barbecue grill is being blamed as the probable cause of a fire that damaged the front porch of a home in the 3000 block of Oak Place late Thursday night in Bullhead City.
According to the Bullhead City Fire Department, personnel were called around 9 p.m. Thursday to a possible structure fire and found a woman trying to extinguish heavy flames that were coming from the front porch of the residence.
Firefighters on Engine 731 and Ladder 721 quickly put out the fire that was burning underneath the mobile home, deck and detached garage. Battalion Chief Don Evans requested a fire investigator, who on Friday placed the likely cause as a charcoal grill on the plywood deck.
No injuries were reported. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
