Police: Havasu man arrested after punching guard
A Lake Havasu man was jailed after authorities said he punched a security guard during a bar incident.
According to a report from city police, Kenney Robert Sikes, 31, was charged with two misdemeanors, assault with the intent to injure and disorderly conduct, after a March 16 incident at a bar.
Police said Sikes had been disruptive and when he was being escorted from the bar, he allegedly struck the guard in the face.
When an officer spoke to the guard, he said he became aware of a fight on the dance floor. When the guard arrived he saw Sikes trying to start a fight.
The guard told him to leave, but he refused and the guard wrapped up Sikes with both hands and tried to take him outside, according to the report.
Then, Sikes broke loose and punched the guard on the right side of the face. The guard then said he hit Sikes and took him outside.
Police said the guard had a small cut below his right eyebrow and was bleeding from his nose.
Sikes was arrested and taken to the city jail.
