Alcohol believed to be a factor in rollover crash near entrance of @ The Y Country Store
Two Kentucky men ages 29 and 23 both suffered injuries after the Toyota Corolla they were driving lost control and rolled over in the parking lot of @ The Y Country Store.
The accident occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday near the entrance of the store near the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and M-116 in Hamlin Township when the vehicle left the road, crashed through a sign and flipped over, coming to rest in the middle of the parking lot, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said alcohol is believed to a be a factor in the crash and syringes were found in the vehicle, but did not appear to have been used. Police said drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
Owners of the store said there was nobody else in the parking lot at the time of the accident and no other injuries have been reported.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlin Township and Ludington fire departments responded along with Life EMS to the scene.
