Fundraiser seeks donations for Watertown children
REESEVILLE -- People are invited to come to Discovery Toys’ 13th annual fundraiser which will benefit the Watertown Family Aid Association’s Gift for Kids program on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 1-8 p.m. at 215 Pearl St., Reeseville.
Massage therapists will be giving free 20-minute massages and there will be a silent auction. Tips for massages will be accepted and bid winners do not need to be present to win an item in the silent auction. Winners will be notified as to their prize by Nov. 25.
Discovery Toys is looking for items for its silent auction. Gift certificates are encouraged.
All donations from the massages and silent auction will be used toward purchasing educational toys for children in the program. Discovery Toys, lifetime guarantee, educational toys, books, games and CDs for children of all ages and abilities will also be available for purchase. Twenty-five percent of the Discovery Toys purchases are also donated toward the Watertown Gifts for Kids program.
The Gift for Kids program provides Christmas toys, clothing, family games and ongoing monetary support to disadvantaged children and families in Watertown. The goal is to collect $10,000 in donations to provide the 500 children participating in this program with a Discovery Toys Christmas gift.
Donations will be accepted before and during the event in three ways: a monetary donation (cash, check or credit) that can be used to purchase toys, select toys to give toward the 500 toys needed or place a toy order by visiting www.vanatoys.com or calling Discovery Toys team leader Judy Vana for a catalog at 920-763-5885.
For more information and to RVSP, call Vana. Direct donations may be made to Vana at P.O. Box 25, Reeseville, WI 53579.
